She's back

and maybe that’s why Frankie is so much on my mind. Or maybe she is on my mind because just about the only thing on my Instagram feed is cat/kitten accounts and that’s what I spend my time scrolling through – cats of all shapes and sizes and ages.

Remember, just after Frankie died, I wrote about the Ghost Cat?  Well for several months after that both my husband and I were aware of Frankie still being around. Eventually we stopped seeing and hearing her but for the past week or so she’s been back.

This is one of my favorite Frankie videos –

I am now tempted  to go wallow in Frankie photos and videos but I do have chores to get to, or I could try and nap because I am always tired or I could read for a bit or…well there isn’t much else is there – clean, nap, read. Not exactly a hard-knock life but boring as hell.
So what’s it gonna be?

  1. I remember that video and it made me giggle again! Her airplane ears and that whipping tail said enough but then she added 'words'! She was truly one of a kind and I'm happy to hear you've been feeling her presence again.

  2. That's one of the things I loved about her – you could have a conversation, a real back and forth and we each knew what the other was saying. The girl was a hoot!

  3. I always said that when my cats were gone I would foster, I'm 75 and it would be thoughtless to take on a permanent cat BUT my husband's disabilities make having a critter in the house a hazard for him (my husband not a cat). So after 50 years of living with cats I am now stuck with just a human. I would prefer a cat.

  4. Oy, we have so many Frankie videos! And BB videos – he was a huge orange cat we had to re-home, I've got a video from the first day we had him – stealing a sandwich off the table – to say he was food motivated would be putting mildly.

  5. Frankie looked just like my cat, Uma. Acted like her, too, I see. I'm sorry you can't have a cat now, but I totally understand. I decided to go catless and stop taking Claritin every day, but I do miss the little critters.

  6. Brown striped tabbies are fairly common it's their individual personalities that make them special. And Miss Frankie had a huge personality.
