  1. One — It is good to hear your voice. Two — Your experience is a familiar one, I am sorry to say, between the lack of listening and the counterproductive approaches to things. And Ativan can be evil stuff for some.

I wish I could give you some respite, and glad that George is better mentally than he was.

    Love you.

    1. I can’t even respond to the ‘not listening’ thing – or the lack of record keeping. This actually used to be a top notch hospital but I guess Covid has got everyone working on fumes. But then – effing doctors NEVER listen, god forbid a person would know themselves better than a doctor who met you 30 seconds ago. Yes, I need respite but there is none to be had.

    1. There was a case manager at the hospital whose main job, as far as I could see, was to find somewhere to discharge him to. No case manager at the rehab place – I’ll ask about that on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday).

      1. You shouldn’t have to set up about things like babysitters. That’s up to the facility and should be included on insurances etc. And that’s what a case manager would help set up.

  2. Thank you for this update, Grace. I love hearing you tawk. I do hear the exhaustion and the heaviness of all this in your voice. My heart goes out to you. What you and George have been through with the healthcare system this past week is way more than anyone should have to go through. Did they ever give him an MRI? I’d hate to think of what would’ve happened through all this if he didn’t have you advocating for him. I do hope the party didn’t prevent you from getting sleep last night. Love and hugs to you, Grace.

  3. An audio is just as good as a written post. Spending a significant amount of time at a hospital or rehab facility can be exhausting both mentally and physically. Then to have them not listening on top of it. Don’t forget to take care of yourself now.

  4. Sheesh, life certainly could be easier for you both. We have that situation in the hospitals here, the left doesn’t know what the right’s doing because no one writes it down or records things – but the staff the core staff are superb.

Suze and l do the phone thing, sometimes with glasses or a small camera though.
